Theatre of Sanctuary - Platforma planning Join us and Counterpoints Arts on 7 Nov for a Theatres of Sanctuary online meet up to discuss the plans for Platforma 2025. The Platforma festival is produced by Counterpoints Arts every two years in a different part of England, in partnership with organisations, artists and venues across many different art forms. Sanctuary and the Visual Arts - Platforma planning Developed by City of Sanctuary UK and Counterpoint Arts, the Arts Stream of Sanctuary recognises work done by arts organisations with artists and communities from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds and helps them build sustainable ongoing programmes.This meeting will feature short presentations by studios and galleries which have Sanctuary status, to share the work they do, some of the challenges they face and how they address them. Wales regional meeting Our regional meetings are an opportunity for organisations and institutions working to support people seeking sanctuary based in specific regions to come together, connect, share best practice and support one another. Mental health recources for refugees and asylum seekers Mental Health Foundation have developed resources to support refugees and asylum seekers with their mental health, including advice translated into other languages.
Fear and Hope: the case for community resilience report HOPE not hate’s Fear and HOPE reports identify the drivers of fear and hope and the triggers that push people from one to the other. This year, they look at 2024 as a pivotal point for the UK, with the General Election in July and riots in August. Read it here.
Know your rights - moving to eVisa Scottish Refugee Council are holding a session on Nov 11th for newly granted refugees who will be moving to the new eVisa (this includes current Biometric Resident Permits (BRP) holders, and those who have recently been granted Leave to Remain through the asylum process.
