Migrant Champions Network Launched by JCWI, the Migrant Champions Network is a new project that will support local councillors to champion the rights of migrants in their local areas and beyond. The WI Pledges a Warm Welcome to Refugees The Women’s Institute is mobilising its network of 190,000 women to offer refugees a warm welcome when they arrive in the UK. The organisation is encouraging its network of 5,500 WI groups to set up Conversation Cafes in their own communities to offer refugee women a place to come together to meet others and learn new skills. The independent Commission on the Integration of Refugees - Call for Evidence Groups and individuals are invited to submit evidence on how the current refugee and asylum system affects refugees’ integration into wider UK society. Your evidence will be used to support the Commission’s report and recommendations for changes to the way the UK processes and supports refugees and asylum seekers. The Commission hopes that these recommendations will be adopted by policy makers and will result in tangible changes to the current system. Find out more here.
