Supporting refugees: Responding to the Ukraine Crisis

This event will outline practical ways in which you can support and help refugees, including those fleeing from the war in Ukraine. This session will be led by Siân Summers-Rees, Chief Officer of City of Sanctuary UK. 

Following recent events in Ukraine,many of us are feeling overwhelmed about how to get involved and support people impacted by the on-going humanitarian disaster. However, all of us can play a part in offering help, hope and a warm welcome to those forced from their homes.

This hour-long event has been designed to provide an introduction on how to support refugees for people who may not have much previous experience. All are welcome to join the event!

This session will cover: 

• Overview of current refugee crisis from Ukraine 
• What actions can people take to support people forced to flee
• Ideas on how to foster welcome to refugees in your community

There will be time after the presentation for Questions and Answers and for regional refugee support groups to share what work they do.
